TechnikRadar

The partner consortium of the ‚TechnikRadar‘ comprises the Körber-Stiftung, acatech and a team consisting of members from ZIRIUS and Lehrstuhl SOWI V at University of Stuttgart. The project is funded by the Körber-Stiftung and acatech.

The objective of the project is to design and to implement a regularly scheduled data attainment and empirical analysis of the expectations and perspectives towards new technologies and the technological change. ZIRIUS and SOWI V are responsible for the research. The Körber-Stiftung und acatech communicate the research results into the society to foster the discussions about the subject of the technological development.

The analyses of ZIRIUS are based on representative surveys of the German population which will be attained over several years. Single surveys can be used to examine the status quo of perspectives on technologies and technological change. The repeated surveys allow to compare the study results across the time points for indicating the trends how opinions develop over time and which factors influence this development. Qualitative research on specific aspects of the main topics supplements the survey activities.

So, the study can develop conclusions, which are important for the development in Germany and for the national and international research on perceptions and attitudes concerning technologies and technological change.
